After spending years vacationing in the historic resort Town of Breckenridge, Colorado, many folks choose to make the leap. They relocate to Breckenridge real estate—lock, stock, and barrel. With a year-round home base in Breckenridge, they can forever enjoy the fresh air, powdered excitement, friendly Main Street, and picture-perfect views from a flowered deck at their new Breckenridge real estate.
Property adjacent to the Breckenridge ski slopes caters to the visitor, but many people enjoy the cosmopolitan buzz of living in the middle of things. Others like to be able to sneak away to Breckenridge real estate in a secluded mountain Breckenridge neighborhood along the Summit Stage route? And some fall in love with Breckenridge real estate near a trailhead where it’s really easy to get around in snowshoes and to hike through the happy wildflowers. Then, there is the fantastic, though pricey, Breckenridge real estate near the golf course. Look further out into Summit County real estate and Park County real estate for affordable horse properties and backwoods cabins.
Of course, you must be able to support yourself while living here. Employment options in a resort town include the professions, hospitality, recreation, education, culinary arts, retail, construction, healthcare, sales, transportation, the arts, and much more. Also, with the easy access to the Denver business community, some people enjoy flex schedules. Sill others take advantage of the Internet and mobile technology to negotiate with their city employers to work from a home office. There are usually some negotiating factors like the ability to fly out of an international airport once in a while.
If you have growing children, the Summit County and Park County School Districts provide innovative enrichment programs and individual plans for student success. The College in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, a 2-year outdoor experiential school, is reputed to create a solid academic foundation for entrance into four-year colleges and universities.
Getting connected once you arrive is simply a matter of networking. Those years of vacations have given you a great springboard for integrating into the permanent community.
Called the “Perfect Mountain Town,” you may just find everything and everyone you need right here. Bank at Alpine, Band of the West, First Bank, Wells Fargo, and West Star. Find some classy furnishings at Colorado Log; Finley, Jones and Harris, or High Country, or even pick up some lumber at the Building Center and spend that time learning how to create an Adirondack chair. Qwest is the telephone/DSL company, Comcast the Cable TV. There’s a wonderful Garden Center to help pretty up your entryway and lots of places to pretty up your do and fingernails later.
Churches, organizations, and centers offer opportunities to mingle. There are courses in every sport and outdoor skill where you will meet people who have “been there.” The adventure of moving automatically removes some of the shingles from your eyes, opening up a new perspective from your new world. Enjoy.
