Gateway to Breckenridge Real Estate Affordable Housing?
By RealEstateColorado.com

Creative land use is bringing affordable housing to the Breckenridge real estate mix.  The parcel located near Coyne Valley Road at the north end of real estate in Breckenridge is being given serious thought before even one shovel of dirt is moved.

Residents want to keep the maximum amount of natural preserves, a pure environment, a pedestrian-friendly Main Street, and other features that make Breckenridge property a prime choice for seasonal and year-round residents.  Several issues may restrict building projects and move Breckenridge to a future phase of careful rebuilding.  Consequently, the use of McKain Block 11 at the "gateway” to town is being considered.

The Town of Breckenridge is working with many stakeholders to achieve the optimum results.  DTJ Design is working with the council, listening to the needs of the community and factors such as these:
1) The great need for affordable housing
2) Position and beauty of the property as entrance to town
3) Environmental sensitivity
4) A place for a new Colorado Mountain College campus
5) The need for a reservoir
6) Completing the Blue River restoration
7) Riparian corridor
8) Wetlands restoration
9) Ski parking
10) College parking
11) A walking neighborhood district
12) Preserving natural habitat along Highway 9
13) Open space

Whatever the end result may be the community is gaining new skill sets coming to a consensus.  That in itself is gold!
