Placer Valley is a beautiful subdivision located just east of Hoosier Pass in the northernmost area of Park County's real estate.  A home in Placer Valley will be just over the Summit County line in Park County, Colorado.  And it's a great place for a cabin in the Park County woods for a second home.

Real estate in Quartzville, Colorado and Placer Valley, Colorado, south of Breckenridge real estate is near former mining operations.  Today, the 15,000 people in Park County are more often employed in construction, education, social services, retail, and recreation.  But everyone can take advantage of the hikes and intermediate backcountry ski areas on the way to Mt. Lincoln through the Putnam Gulch, the Lincoln Amphitheater and Cameron Amphitheater once in a while.

Though only a 25-minute drive from Breckenridge real estate, Placer Valley has developed its own community spirit and activities.  The Placer Valley Wildflower Hike, the Placer Valley Cleanup Day and the Holiday Bazaar are always fun.  An fascinating autumn hike around Placer Valley properties is a time to enjoy rich golds and reds one last time before it's all covered with pure white snow and you're on a snowshoe hike.  There's the Holiday Bazaar, Alma's Thanksgiving Dinner, the Harvest Ball at the Fairplay Hotel, the Winter Social, the Silverheels Ball, and the South Park Music Fest in Fairplay to add to the ongoing attractions in Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain, and Denver.

Since it is located in a large valley that is divided by the Middle Fork of the South Platte River, the subdivision has many different characteristics.  The terrain, views, tree cover, and setting vary depending on where you are.  For instance, the views from the east side are more dramatic because they are oriented toward Montgomery Gulch.  There are even some views of the Reservoir!  The east side properties also have a nice southern view of the more distant peaks past Fairplay.  The properties on the west side have nice views toward Hoosier Ridge and to the south.

There are different levels of steepness, tree cover, sunshine, and view throughout the subdivision, so if you see something that is not for you, look at a different area of the subdivision.  We have lived there for 15 years and are very familiar with the features.  Please contact us to get a free report on all available properties.
The sunsets are beautiful! This photo was taken from our deck in Placer Valley.
