Living in a cozy wooded home at the alpine resort of Breckenridge or owning a vacation Breckenridge, Colorado real estate, everyone learns more about snowboarding. We are all familiar with gymnastics but many of us wonder about throwing down in the 30-foot quarterpipe.
We see the competitors flying around on the trapeze-like rings and balance beams. But, we may hesitate when our children take off to join friends at the Breckenridge terrain parks interspersed near ski-in/ski-out real estate along Breckenridge ’s Peak 7, Peak 8, and Peak 9. In fact, if you buy Breckenridge real estate on Peak 9 or some Copper Mountain real estate, your family can take great advantage of the gymnastic/snowboard connection.
Have you ever heard that gymnastics is the only sport that transfers benefits to every other sport? Besides the specific and intense physical training that a gymnast endures, he/she is developing mental muscles. But the real trump card is the physics of the anti-gravity force that showers the brain and bodily systems with a rejuvenation that is hard to duplicate anywhere else.
Just watch those young adults during the Chevrolet U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix in December next time it comes to Breckenridge as they “effortlessly†swoop around on the obstacle course. If the readers of Transworld Snowboarding magazine are picking our spot as the top snowboarding destination, shouldn’t we determine to get on board?
Gymnastics is a complex sport with many dramatic and subtle nuances. It fosters the application of learned abstract concepts to other areas. Copper Mountain is the first resort to install foam pits, trampolines, and bungee systems at their new facility called Woodward at Copper. Snowboarders and skiers alike will be able to learn and practice advanced ramp and aerial tricks in the state-of-the-art facility that will open during the 2008-09 ski and snowboard season. Woodward, an action sports and gymnastics camp that develops athletes for the world of BMX racing and skateboarding, is partnering with the resort to build an indoor artificial snow slope along with the progressive teaching tools that will enable kids, pros, and future Olympians to sharpen their jumps, ramps, ride, and aerial skills.
Gymnastics develops coordination, improves flexibility and balance, and builds strength and power. As athletes work hard to perfect their skills, self-esteem and self-confidence will emerge. Some of the benefits are hard to measure but successful athletes tend to work hard and achieve in other areas of life at the same time. So, get in on the anti-gravity play in our beautiful mountain village.
