One of the facets of living in Breckenridge real estate and throughout Summit County, Colorado has to do with the genuine givingness of our people. A high percentage of successful people make their way to homes in Breckenridge, Keystone, and Copper Mountain real estate and, bringing their gifts and talents, positively affecting our quality of life. They are the nature lovers and they also reach out to people with largesse of heart. In fact, we have so many volunteers that we now have a Summit County Volunteer Center.
Coming up in June, the Foundation will sponsor an exclusive golf extravaganza called the 21st Grand Lodge on Peak 7 Celebrity Golf Tournament in June 12-14, 2008. Pro-sports celebrities will be teeing up for charity paired with teams of four golfers. Each team heads out to the greens with a different celebrity on Friday and Saturday.
Produced in conjunction with Allure Events, the event is also a social affair. A Welcome Party on Thursday, Golf Gala on Friday, and Awards Reception on Saturday offer plenty of extra places for the participants to enjoy each other’s company.
Over the years, the Summit Foundation continues to be a key player in funding the work of a long list of nonprofit organizations in the County. As the Summit Foundation dedicates its work to improving the quality of life in Summit County and in the neighboring communities, it reaches across several disciplines.
It provides financial and technical support to nonprofits in the areas of art and culture, health and human services, education, scholarships, environment, and sports. In 1984, the Breckenridge Ski Corporation established the Foundation under the name of the Breckenridge Development Foundation and the name changed in 1991 reflecting the expanded goal.
Besides the golf tournament, fundraising is achieved through a transferable season ski pass offered to donors. Ask about the Foundation Patron Pass and the Premier Patron Pass Program and their benefits which include group ski lessons, restaurant discounts, access to Nordic centers, complimentary golf rounds, and reduced lodging rates.
Other activities run the gamut of the creativity of the citizens and range from the Hockey Classic to the Taste of Breckenridge, to the Steven Watson Golf Classic and other golf events. There’s the Mountain Art Gathering, the Rubber Duck Race, and many others. Additionally, Xcel Energy with match employee donations and several dedicated residents are remembered with Memorial Funds that are part of the Foundation’s assets.
The Summit Foundation adds punch to the community and encourages goodwill and great times. Take some time to tee up and join in the fun. While you are here, ask about real estate in our mountain resort communities, contact Rick Allemang at (970) 547-1002.
