Mark your calendar for the 25th Annual Breckenridge July Art Festival to be held July 4, 5, and 6 at the south end of Main Street, a crowning jewel of the Fourth of July celebrations. Residents and guests of Breckenridge CO real estate will once again welcome 140 prestigious artists from around the county and thousands of visitors to the Breckenridge July Art Festival. The Festival’s central location near Maggie Pond also makes this the perfect time, while you are here, to ask us to show you nearby vacation homes in Breckenridge at the ultra-luxurious and flexible Main Street Station and at The Village at Breckenridge.
Ranked as one of the best art festivals in the United States, the high-quality Breckenridge July Art Festival offers a wide range of art mediums including painting, metal, wood, glass, ceramics, sculpture, photography, and jewelry. It is a great place to begin personalizing your new real estate in Breckenridge by choosing a painting or sculpture for your entryway.
As one of the 2008 Mountain Art Festivals, these events provide a venue for talented artisans to sell their original works of art to thousands of art enthusiasts. During the events, patrons have the unique opportunity to meet the exhibiting artists, to ask about the sources of their inspirations and about techniques, and also to commission a specific piece.
Local artists and festival directors Mark Beling and Judith Pollack have spent over 15 years developing the reputation of the fabulous art festivals in Summit County. Mark explains that he is “committed to providing the highest quality of juried art shows possible to create a wonderful experience for both the artists and the patrons of our festivals!”
Mountain Art Festivals also organizes three more festivals during the summer months. The 6th Annual Breckenridge Main Street Art Festival from July 25 to 27, 2008, the 33rd Annual gathering at the Great Divide from August 30 through September 1, 2008, and the new Dillon Art Festival July 18-20 are awesome ways to mingle in the cool mountain air.
In addition to creating art festivals, Mountain Art Festivals developed a philanthropic program that has enabled the donations of over $135,000 in cash and $150,000 in in-kind donations to Summit County non-profits. As a part of the program, three high school seniors with an interest in pursuing secondary education in the arts have received $1,000 scholarships encouraging them to pursue a lifetime of art.
To drive to the festival, take Interstate 70 to Exit 203. Follow Colorado 9 South approximately 10 miles to town. Follow Main Street south to Park Avenue and turn west to the free parking lot. In addition to the wonderful art festival, the area features upscale retail shopping and unique restaurants. Who knows? You may want to plan to hike in the morning and visit the festival in the afternoon. We’re flexible and will make arrangements to show you properties anytime.
