We are not simply loyal to our Town of Breckenridge real estate because we live here and want your business. Personally, we chose to live here because, after exploring all of the ski resorts in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, we have determined that owning a home near Breckenridge Ski Resort and its real historic town is the way to go. Buying real estate in Breckenridge is the best choice if you agree with our priorities.
Our Breckenridge, Colorado homes and ski-in/ski-out luxury condominiums in Breckenridge access the highest chairlift in North America. The Imperial Express Super Chair carries skiers and riders (and mountain bikers) to the ultimate skiers’ challenges in the sparsely oxygenated elevations at 12,840 feet above sea level. Not a ride for everyone, the Super Chair drops you at the summit and from there it is up to you—the skier—to alight and descend with the lightning speed that gathers from such heights. These ultimate runs offer the tests of skills and conditioning gleaned during years of experience, making less-endowed runs seem like child’s play.
On the way to developing the ultimate skill set, visitors and families find that our resort has something interesting and something challenging for everyone. There are more runs for beginners, a wonderful ski school with a mid station, and one of the steepest moguls on the entire continent. In addition, nine terrain parks feature all of the best tricks for beginning as well as expert riders.
Another reason to buy in Breck is the convenience. It is closer to the Front Range cities of Denver and Colorado Springs and their international airports. Taking off for your ski condo here, you’ll save an hour and a half in drive time versus staying on the freeway to Vail. The Interstate-70 traffic can be hair-raising in the winter and we all know that children would rather be out playing in the snow instead of being cooped up in the car. From Colorado Springs, the route is Highway 285, a scenic drive through a few choice small towns like Fairplay that have great restaurants.
The kicker may be the cost of parking, however, although the ski tickets, lodging, food, equipment, and lessons are also cheaper here. Breck is a centralized town, making the entire community easily accessible and it offers free parking lots. Vail, on the other hand, is very spread out along the Interstate. In Vail, it may cost $20 to park somewhere and then take a shuttle to the lifts. Then, as the day gets going, the parking options get pricier and you have to walk a ways to a shuttle stop to get to a lift.
Beyond the skiers’ concerns, Breck really offers something for everyone on any budget. From boutique shopping to galleries to casual get-togethers and dance clubs to hole-in-the-wall eateries and fine dining, there are many reasons to just enjoy the Town. The film and music festivals, art festivals, snow-sculpture competitions, outdoor concerts, world-class theater, museums, and many more events make every week special in some way.
It works for us and we’d like to help make it work for your mountain vacations. Contact Rick Allemang at (970) 547-1002 for real estate information in the area.
